ESPN integration

ESPN data, in your warehouse.

A built-in ingestr connector: add credentials, pick tables, schedule it.

name: raw.teams
type: ingestr
parameters:
  source_connection: espn
  source_table: 'teams'
  destination: snowflake
  incremental_strategy: merge

$ bruin run assets/raw/espn.asset.yml

  2. load · snowflake raw.teamsmerged
  3. checks · not_null, unique

Loaded and checked. Downstream models can run.

How it connects

Connected in three steps.

ESPN exposes a set of unauthenticated JSON endpoints at site.api.espn.com that cover scores, teams, standings, and news. These endpoints are unofficial and can change without notice. No authentication is required. The default configuration targets NFL data with sport=football and league=nfl.

  1. 01

Add a ESPN connection with its credentials.

  2. 02

Pick the tables to load and how: replace, append or merge.

  3. 03

Bruin runs it on your schedule and checks every load.
